Mindanaoans for Peace

Through the initiative of AMIN Party List Rep. Mujiv S. Hataman and Pastor Al Senturias of the Mindanao Peoples Peace Movement (MPPM), a group of concerned Mindanaoans based in Metro Manila met to discuss about Mindanao's situation and what the Mindanaoans in Metro Manila can do about it.

The group agreed to form a forum of Mindanaoans in Metro Manila to advocate issues on Peace and development in Mindanao. The objective of this forum is to build in Metro Manila a wide constituency for Mindanao's concerns.

It was agreed that a regular gathering cum discussion among Mindanaoans will be held at the PGX's cafe in Sikatuna Village, Quezon City. The group agreed to reach out Mindanaoans working in NGO's, those in communities and those studying in Universities around Metro Manila to participate and get involved in this forum.

Aside from Rep. Mujiv Hataman and Pastor Al Senturias, the other prime movers of this group are fellow Mindanaoans, Ms. June Rodriguez, Executive Director  of the PEACE Foundation, and journalist, author of the award winning book, "Into the mountain: Hostaged by the Abu Sayyaf," Chairman of the National Union of Journalists in the Philippines, Mr. Jose Torres.

AMIN Party list will be the lead group in organizing this forum and the launching of it's activities for the month of October, in time for the celebration of the Indigenous Peoples Month.
