All Out Peace in Mindanao |
|
PRESS RELEASE August 28, 2007
Calling for an all-out peace in Mindanao, party list Anak Mindanao, joined other Muslim organizations, in convening the Bangsamoro People's Solidarity or BANGSA. Aimed at countering the Arroyo administration's three-year plan of an all-out war in the region to quell the terror group Abu Sayyaf, BANGSA counter-proposes a more comprehensive strategy in achieving lasting peace in Mindanao.
"In the decades of war that Mindanao has endured, by now we should have grasped the truth in the saying, 'In war there are no real victors…only victims' " lamented AMIN Representative Mujiv Hataman. "If War is the answer, this ill-named Mindanao problem should have ended decades ago. But no, it did not, and yet, we never changed plans." |
