The Hataman-Dumarpa Anti-Discrimination Bill

Rep. Mujiv Hataman of AMIN Party List and Rep. Faysah RPM Dumarpa of Lanao del Sur had filed two different bills on anti-Discrimination. Their bills are now being consolidated into one. 

This consolidated bill is now on the process of being formulated and framed. We would like to hear your views about this bill and help contirbute to its construction by making your comments on its draft posted here.

House Investigation of the ARMM Elections
The right to vote is given to every citizen, not disqualified by law, to select the officials which to his opinion will competently discharge the functions of an elective office. Without this right, the constitutional principle that sovereignty resides with the people becomes an empty one or an illusion.

On the matter of the ARMM elections
Mr. Speaker, ayon sa pahayagang Inquirer, sinabi po ni Commissioner Florentino Tuazon, Jr. ng COMELEC, “Elections in ARMM were abnormal because it was generally peaceful.”  Hindi ko po maintindihan, Mr. Speaker, kung iniinsulto niya ang mag kongresista sa ARMM o pinapatawa. Iyon ang hindi ko po maintindihan. Pero ang malinaw, Mr. Speaker, hindi po naming alam kung ano ang sukatan ng Commission on Elections sa sinasabi nilang “peaceful”. Peaceful ba ang halalan kung malawakan ang bilihan ng boto? Peaceful ba ang halalan kung malawakan ang dayaan kahapon sa ARMM? Peaceful ba ang halalan kung mayroong putukan? Peaceful ba ang halalan kung mayroong barikada at ayaw bumoto ng mga tao? Kung peaceful sa COMELEC ang ganitong klase ng halalan, ano pa kaya ang tawag nila sa nakaraang halalan kung saan naging kontrobersiya ang “Hello Garci” tapes. Mr. Speaker, mga iginagalang kong kasama, dagdag pa ng COMELEC, kung mayroon man daw mga nangyayaring kaguluhan, ito ay mga isolated cases lamang.

WAR IN SULU…VALENTINES’ BOMBINGS
Kagabi po tatlong magkakasunod na pagsabog ang naganap sa tatlong malalaking syudad ng ating bansa. Isa po sa Gaisano mall ng General Santos city, Sa Ecoland Bus Terminal po ng Davao city at isa sa may Ayala-EDSA,Makati city. Matapos po ang sunud sunod na pagsabog nang biglang makatanggap ng tawag ang DZBB mula sa isang nagngangalang Abu Sulaiman na umamin na siya’y tagapagsalita ng Abu Sayyaf. Inako, na kanilang kagagawan ang  mga pagsabog bilang “valentines gift” kay Pangulong Arroyo at  pamahalaan bahagi ng kanilang paghihiganti daw sa mga atrosidad na ginawa ng pamahalaan laban sa mga kapwa nilang Muslim sa Metro Manila at Mindanao kasama na ang patuloy na nangyayaring gyera sa Sulu.
