Message to DepEd Mindanao
Messages
We from Anak-Mindanao Party-List recognize the need of support of our Philippine education especially in Mindanao. Solidarity Message for the MPPM

Republic of the Philippines

House of Representatives
Quezon City, Metro Manila

I congratulate the convenors of this 3rd Mindanao Peoples’ Peace Summit for pushing through with this event. It is very timely considering the two (2) developments which will have impact on the lives of our Indigenous Peoples. One is the decision of the Arroyo administration to attached the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) to the newly created Department of Land Reform(DLR) and, the most serious, is the recent decision of the Supreme Court allowing foreign mining companies to own mining rights in the country. The decision to transfer the NCIP to the DLR was to allegedly allow the said agency to avail of the funds coming from the ill-gotten Marcos wealth. We questioned before the Supreme Court the legality of the transfer of the NCIP from the Office of the President to the Department of Land Reform.

This will indeed add to the number of young Muslims who will impart and share what they have learned through the years of study as soon as they go back to their respected provinces, inshaÁllah.

Message to Leyteños
Messages
My heartfelt congratulations to the Metro Manila based Leyteňos in celebrating the Annual Fiesta of the Sto. Niňo. Observance of the Feast of Saints is one of the deep held traditions of Filipinos and shows their deep religiosity wherever they are. It promotes the feeling of closeness with the Creator, solidifies camaraderie with neighbors and friends, and fosters harmony among the peoples in the community.

Thus, it is my fervent wish that you will have a happy and peaceful observance of the fiesta celebration. God speed.

REP. MUJIV S. HATAMAN

House Investigation of the ARMM Elections
Privilege Speech
The right to vote is given to every citizen, not disqualified by law, to select the officials which to his opinion will competently discharge the functions of an elective office. Without this right, the constitutional principle that sovereignty resides with the people becomes an empty one or an illusion.
