Pope Benedict XVI Against Islam and Prophet Muhammad
A Mindanao party-list lawmaker on Monday demand nothing less from Pope Benedict XVI on the statements the latter made against Islam and Prophet Muhammad, to come out again and make a pastoral, pontifical or whatever the Catholic Church may call it, a statement from his lips, saying that he is mistaken for quoting irresponsible and distorted information against Islam and the Beloved Prophet of ALLAH.
Time and time again, the religion of 1.8 billion followers is being confronted with so many challenges from every angle before the eyes of the whole world. These challenges begin with the global "war against terrorism" organized by the American and Zionist Israeli partnership against predominantly Muslim Arab, African, and Southeast Asian nations which led to the insurmountable death of innocent Muslim lives and illegally snatching and controlling it's rich natural resources."
This religion is often under attack by the unfriendly, prejudicial, and jaundiced media outfits of the West such as Fox News, CNN, BBC and Jylland Posten toting up to the prevailing fallacies attributed towards Islam; demonizing the personality of the Beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him); and, warping the image of its 1.8 billion followers.
Recently, the highest hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church has joined the campaign to instill more anti-Islamic, which is otherwise called in the modern times as "Islamophobia" sentiments. Pope Benedict XVI made some allegations conveniently quoting a history book saying that Islam was spread by the sword. The Pope, who is considered by the whole Christendom as the sole and direct representative of Jesus Christ on earth, dangerously unleashed its pronouncements adding fuel to the then volatile relationship between Muslims and Christians all over the world.
Anak Mindanao (AMIN) Party-List Representative Mujiv S. Hataman said, "the Muslims in the Philippines are taken aback by the Pope's irresponsible statements. His statements manifest either complete ignorance in Islamic History or his intention to misguide the minds of the Christians that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used force to spread Islam."
According to Hataman, "has he forgotten how, in the name of Jesus Christ and under the order of the Roman Catholic empire, the Christian Crusaders led by King Charlemagne, the Great, almost obliterate the Muslims including innocent women and children; pillage and marauded Muslim communities in Europe? If indeed, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has taught any form of compulsion or force to convert a non-Muslim, then there would have no single Christian left in Spain. Further, if Prophet Muhammad has taught any form of compulsion, then there would have no single Hindu left in India. And if Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has taught the use of the sword to apply intimidation, then there would no single Jew left in Jerusalem . In contrast, the best days of the Christians and Jews in Jerusalem were when it was under rule of Islam. Didn't the Pope know about these events in history?"
"Categorically, the world sees the Pope as someone infallible before eyes of the Catholic Church. Considering his status in the Catholic Church, he has miserably misinformed his ever-loyal believers and put his infallibility to a question. How could a man of eminence deliver such blunder? How could a man of his caliber can possibly guide the Catholic Church and its flock to "thy kingdom come?" Hataman added. Hataman exclaimed, "If indeed the Pope is a man of God, then he should be the first to exercise humbleness as this is a virtue taught by his suppose lord and savior, Jesus Christ (peace be upon him). "
Along this side, the Bangsamoro Peoples' Solidarity, a non-government, non-profit organization, appeals to His Holiness: to go and preach the truth about Injiilul 'Isa al masih ibnu Maryam (the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the son of Mary) instead of talking about other religion. Leave Islam and the Prophet of ALLAH alone; to get lessons from his predecessor, Pope John Paul II, who during his lifetime advocated world peace, to the extent of forgiving his assailant, Acmad Agca.; and, if indeed, the Pope is the sole and direct representative of Jesus Christ on earth and as such, he is infallible, then, try not to commit the same mistake as every word he says is taken as true and infallible by the whole Christendom.
