Beware: Fraudulent AMIN Website |
The Anak Mindanao Party List has discovered what appears to be an attempt to undermine this website and the information presented here.
This website, visible on both anakmindanao.com and anakmindanao.org domains, is the official website of the Anak Mindanao (AMIN) Party List, of which Cong. Mujiv S. Hataman is the elected Representative. The domains anakmindanao.com and anakmindanao.org are registered to the Anak Mindanao Party List, with Cong. Hataman himself as Registrant, with addresses at the House of Representatives, Batasang Pambansa, Quezon City.
However, two other domains, anak-mindanao.com and anak-mindanao.org have also been registered as domains on the Internet.
Closer scrutiny reveals that the hyphenated domain names are not registered to the Anak Mindanao (AMIN) Party List, but to an organization called the Mindanao Tri-people Youth Center, with a certain Rey Datan (

) as Registrant, with addresses at Door 2 Kurut Apt., 14 Josefa Celdran Ave., Tubod, Iligan City.
Information on domain name registration is available to the public by consulting a Whois database. A Whois database contains vital information about a registered domain name, including the name and contact details of the registrant. Whois details contain Administrative, Technical, and Billing details for a registered domain. It also contains the date on which a domain was registered.
Anakmindanao.com and anakmindanao.org were registered on 20 July 2006 and in a matter or days the Official Anak Mindanao Website was launched. On the other hand, no website is configured at anak-mindanao.com nor has there been any, since the time of its registration. Under suspicious happenstance, the domain anak-mindanao.org was registered on the 28th of August 2007 -- merely a few days after the Official Anak Mindanao Website was relaunched in time for AMIN's participation in the 14th Congress of the Philippines. It was also during this period that the vilification campaign against leaders of the Anak Mindanao Party List was intensified.
We ask our readers to beware of FAKE websites such as the one found on anak-mindanao.org. This is only one of the many attempts that are being made to sow disinformation and misrepresent the AMIN Party List.
