The AMIN (Anak Mindanao) Party List in the National Capital Region recently conducted a Strategic Planning Workshop held on September 14-15, 2007 at Kimberly Hotel in Malate, Manila. It was attended by staff members of AMIN’s Legislative Office of Representative Mujiv S. Hataman (ORMSH) and the AMIN-NCR Secretariat.

The Strategic Planning workshop was facilitated by AGENDA Unlimited, a private consulting firm based in Metro Manila. General objective of the Workshop is to come up with appropriate systems and mechanisms aimed at improving task and functions, coordination and complementation of both the ORMSH and the AMIN-NCR Secretariat.

New organizational set-up, strategies and plans were drawn out for both the ORMSH and the AMIN-NCR Secretariat as a result of the workshop. New structures were made to provide the needed support to AMIN’s legislative work in Congress and for AMIN’s organizing work in the NCR.

AMIN Party List Representative Mujiv S. Hataman and AMIN Consultant, Timoteo “Tatay Ben” Pupa, attended the two-day workshop. Tatay Ben gave valuable inputs to the workshop by presenting a new concept on AMIN organizing through a base building approach. An approach and method in organizing that will secure a strong territorial and sectoral foothold for AMIN and ensures the development of a dynamic grassroot based mass movement. While Rep. Mujiv Hataman told the participants, that as part of AMIN’s present thrust of strengthening our organization, similar workshops will also be conducted in AMIN Chapters in Mindanao.

At the end of the workshop the participants agree that the results of the workshop will surely provide new impetus in the process of institutionalizing and rebuilding a consolidated and stronger AMIN Party list organization.
