THE House Committee on Muslim Affairs will immediately pass a resolution calling all Muslims in the Philippines to boycott all products and companies who are supporting Israeli cause as Muslim lawmakers reiterated their condemnation to the continued indiscriminate bombardment by Zionist State of Israel in Lebanon killing innocent civilians especially children and women, a party-list representative said Monday.
Anak Mindanao Rep. Mujiv Hataman charged Israel of violating both the International and Humanitarian Laws through the excessive use of force following its latest attack in Lebanon killing at least 60 civilians, 37 of them are children.
“The aggression against Muslims in Lebanon should be stopped immediately. We are going to pass a resolution calling all Muslims in the country to cease from supporting products known to be supporting and aiding Israel one way or another,” said Hataman who will file a resolution along with House Deputy Speaker for Mindanao Abdulgani Salapuddin of Basilan and other Muslim lawmakers.
“To the Zionist Jews! We urge you to unconditionally withdraw your brutal military forces in the territorial jurisdiction of Lebanon as well as in Gaza.”
Hataman also lamented the direct bombing of Israel in the United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon located in the southern part of Lebanon last Tuesday night, June 25, killing four of its members and several others.
“These are non-combatants people that should be spared from indiscriminate bombing. This creeping invasion must meet an end right now,” said Hataman.
He explained that the planned boycott is meant to pressure Israel to stop its atrocities against civilian people.
“It is not in anyway a result of a swift and emotional stance of Muslim lawmakers but in obedience to the teachings of Islam and pressure Israel to discontinue from its evil and mischievous plots,” he said.
The party-list representative representing Muslims asked United States President George Bush and British government to join the International and regional organizations headed by the United Nations (UN), European Union (EU), Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), and the Arab League in exhausting all peaceful and diplomatic means to end Israeli incursion of Lebanon and Gaza Strip.
“The arrogant and adamant stand of Israelis and the unwavering US and British support is complicating the situation,” he said.
Hataman and other Muslim lawmakers also called on Muslim in the countries to support the fight of Lebanese and Palestinian people in protecting the sacredness and holiness of their lives, properties and lands.
“We call upon all Muslim nations to support in whatever means to help the Lebanese and Palestinian people in defending the sanctity of their lives and properties. Further, we call upon all able-Muslims within the war-stricken region to rally behind the Lebanese and Palestinian people in protecting their land against Zionist invasion,” he said.
The party-list lawmaker also asked Muslims to prepare from all violence against them by strengthening its faith to Allah.
“Therefore, prepare yourselves and bravely face the Zionist Jews for the sake of Allah azza wajal. Arm yourselves with strong faith that Allah will bestow upon you strength and perseverance to repel the enemies of Islam; arm yourselves with unwavering conviction that Allah will protect you from the known killers of the Prophets of Allah azza wajal; arm yourselves with consistent supplication that Allah will give you victory over a nation that earned the anger and curse of Allah azza wajal; and arm yourselves with whatever weapon your hands can carry to fight evil nations that spread sufferings and mischief in all the land,” said Hataman.
